We all love to flick through the home magazines and get spellbound by whats inside. Thinking about the bold and the bright patterns, imagining all that colour in our own homes. I know I do!
But then we finish our coffee, put down the mag and go back to the beige! What are we doing? Why do we stop at the Buy Now button! Now its time to step away from the neutral and really add a bit of the bold in to our homes and this post looks at some of the simple ways we can. The walls are a prime example. We paint them pastel colours or we use plain wallpapers. Be more daring and go for a stylish wall mural or design that adds some real colour to the room. If you need to, start small and plan out a feature wall or alcove. Get used to some colour and pattern and move from there. Inspiration on deep, dark and moody here - the look of this season! Another easy win is to use accessories. Tableware and colourful napkins can add an accent to a neutral dining room. Colourful kitchens are a real head turner! Floors are another perfect way to show your individual style. It wasn't too long ago the options were limited and nothing really spoke out to the design conscious homeowner. Not anymore with choices in carpets and vinyl floor coverings, you don't have to settle for anything less. If you're not quite up to a full floor makeover then go for a bright bold rug or two. Some of the geometric designs out there look fantastic and would fit right in most homes. Classic designs from the high street - John Lewis or M&S. Tiles are a great way of adding colour to a bathroom or kitchen. Mix in a colourful Feature Tile within a white tiled wall and they look fantastic - its the same for a larger splashback in the kitchen. Take the first step and start living with colour in your home!
